The Certificate in Catering & Event Management is a 1¼ year full-time programme. The programme is designed to integrate banquet and event management process for a catered event.
When you graduate you will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of a catered event in relation to food and beverage management; event operations management; event promotion activities; customer service and relationship management; and managing event revenue and costs.
On a more practical level, you will be able to apply relevant skills to manage the entire event sales and operations process. This includes menus and pricing, contracts and invoices, payments and discounts, customer correspondence; the process of taking restaurant reservations and managing guest seating, the coordination of servers, tables, arriving parties and many other related skills.
Advanced Standing Options
Upon completion of this programme, graduates may be admitted on advanced standing into KBU’s Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management programme.

Assessment
Students will be assessed through coursework, practical work, presentations, projects, and written examinations.
- Duration: 1 year and 3 months at KBU
- Entry Requirements: At least 1 credit in SPM / GCE O’ Level / UEC or equivalent qualifications
