Australian Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT)
Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) is a modular pre-university programme of The Curriculum Council, Government of Western Australia. The 10-month programme with the Australian Tertiary Admission Exam’s (ATA) assessment comprising 50% coursework and 50% external examination is recognized by most universities around the world, especially Australia. Students who have successfully completed the AUSMAT programme are also eligible to apply for entry to the diploma and UK honours degree programmes conducted at KBU.
- Duration: January to October (10 months); Examination in November
- Intake: January
- Entry Requirements: Students should possess 5 relevant credits in SPM or GCE ‘O’ Level inclusive of English language or equivalent qualifications. Students waiting for SPM or GCE ‘O’ Level results may apply with their forecast results for January intake
Programme Structure
Students are required to take 5 subjects including English as an Additional Language (EAL/D) or English. Four subjects can be chosen from the list below:

- German
- Economics
**German language is available as an optional subject and taught by native German lecturers at KBU.

- Mathematics
- Mathematics : Specialist

MQA Compulsory Subjects*
- Bahasa Kebangsaan A / B
- Pengajian Islam / Pendidikan Moral
- Pengajian Malaysia
*All Malaysian students are required to take 3 MQA Compulsory Subjects that include Bahasa Kebangsaan A, Malaysian Studies, and Islamic Studies (for Muslims) or Moral Education (for non-Muslims). Malaysian students are required by MQA to pass all these 3 subjects to qualify for their awards. MQA Compulsory Subjects are optional for all International Students.
