This IT programme is designed to provide a strong background for a career in the design of information systems, multimedia-based and internet-based systems.

The modules lead into all aspects of software applications; internet technology; multimedia technology; information systems; operating systems; systems methodologies; visual programming; and database management systems.

Upon completion of this information technology course, students should have acquired appropriate IT knowledge and computing skills to prepare them for work or further studies.

Career Opportunities

Diploma holders can seek employment in the area of internet commerce/e-commerce; software development; database administration, system support, etc.

  • Duration: 2⅓ years at KBU
  • Entry Requirements: 3 relevant credits in SPM, GCE ‘O’ Level or equivalent qualifications

MQA Compulsory Subjects*

  • Bahasa Kebangsaan A / B
  • Pengajian Islam / Pendidikan Moral

*All Malaysian students are required to take 3 MQA Compulsory Subjects that include Bahasa Kebangsaan A, Malaysian Studies, and Islamic Studies (for Muslims) or Moral Education (for non-Muslims). Malaysian students are required by MQA to pass all these 3 subjects to qualify for their awards. MQA Compulsory Subjects are optional for all International Students.
