The BSc (Hons) Information and Communications Technology programme is aimed at providing the essential knowledge and skills necessary to advance your career into the field of ICT. Awarded by Nottingham Trent University, UK, this 3+0 ICT course will provide theoretical explanations as well as practical laboratory-style sessions to develop the key skills required for the industry. You will study the principles of communication and thus gain a comprehensive understanding of the transfer of information from a source to a destination.

Skills/Learning Outcomes:

  • Perform system integration and configuration for interfacing and communications.
  • Develop and implement ICT systems using the tools of the ICT professional e.g. compilers, databases, operating systems and multimedia packages.
  • Design an effective ICT system based on the most effective use of data, components and sub-systems e.g. Wireless networks.
  • Evaluate requirements; define, analyse and solve problems; and evaluate potential and existing solutions.
  • Gather, organise and interpret technical information and demonstrate a high level of IT competency and numeracy.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and work and learn independently.
  • Communicate effectively via reports and presentations and develop a reasoned argument.
  • Organise your work and apply project management techniques to work in a task/deliverable-orientated way.

*All Malaysian students are required to take 3 MQA Compulsory Subjects that include Bahasa Kebangsaan A, Malaysian Studies, and Islamic Studies (for Muslims) or Moral Education (for non-Muslims). Malaysian students are required by MQA to pass all these 3 subjects to qualify for their awards. MQA Compulsory Subjects are optional for all International Students.
