The programmes which are crafted in line with KBU’s vision and missions would be :
• Masters of Business Administration (MBA) awarded by Lord Ashcroft International Business School (LAIBS) of Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom
  KBU International College offers its renowned MBA programme awarded by Lord Ashcroft International Business School (LAIBS) of Anglia Ruskin University. It is designed for young executives and senior managers looking to keep abreast with the constant changes in the corporate world and reach new levels of success. As the programme is designed to suit working adults who have hectic working schedules, the classes are held on weekends and the academic calendar is stretched over four semesters (two years). However, the full time programme can be completed in 1 ½ years.




• Foundation in Science programme, collaboration between KBU International College (KBU) and International Medical University (IMU)
  The Foundation in Science programme developed by KBU with input from IMU provides a platform for students to pursue a variety of programmes related to health sciences at IMU. The programmes available at IMU to these students are: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons), Masters of Pharmacy ( Hons) in collaboration with University of Strathclyde, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Medical Biotechnology, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Biomedical Science, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Nutrition & Dietetics, Bachelor of Science (Hons) Psychology , Bachelor of Science ( Hons) Chiropractic , Bachelor of Science (Hons) Chinese Medicine and Bachelor of Nursing (Hons).
  
  The one year (3 semesters) foundation programme focuses on subjects like Biology, Chemistry, English, Physics and Mathematics which are essential for health science students.




• Diploma in Advertising Design
  The new diploma programme is specifically-designed to awaken the creative and innovative thinking abilities in the field of advertising design. The programme is also expected to create awareness on the role and responsibilities of the professional design while developing problem-solving and transferable skills in design principles and art direction.
  
  Students can either opt to further their studies or take up a job in the field of advertising, film production, multimedia, design consultancies, pre and post production houses.




• BSc (Hons) Tourism and Hospitality Business Management awarded by Sheffield Hallam University of United Kingdom ( SHU)
  Recognising the demand for qualified and competent personnel in the thriving hospitality and tourism industry, the College is offering BSc (Hons) Tourism and Hospitality Business Management (3+0). Comprehensively- designed, the degree programme aims to produce graduates who are equipped with industry expertise and skills in the global services industry of tourism and hospitality. This course gives students the skills and knowledge they need to maximise their employability in the tourism and hospitality industry.

KBU also offers scholarships to students who have excelled in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) examinations. Scholarship and fee waivers are also offered to leaders and top office bearers of school uniformed bodies. Students who are active and have performed well in sports would also be able to apply for the Sports Scholarship.

In KBU’s latest effort to ease the financial burden of parents and students, the College also provides RHB Bank 0% Interest Instalment Plan. (*Terms and conditions apply). Under the plan, parents can use their RHB credit card at zero interest to register their children.

Alternatively, students and parents are welcome to visit the college on KBU Info Day which is scheduled to take place on 17 & 18 March 2012 from 10am- 6 pm or KBU’s Open Day on 24& 25 March 2012 from 10am- 6pm. In today’s technological world, the phrase ‘cloud computing’ is not foreign to those involved in either computing or engineering industry. For those who are not aware of it- the phrase- simply refers to the delivery of computing as a service rather than a product, whereby shared resources, software and information are provided to computers and other devices as a utility over a network.

As long as there is a demand for cloud computing, there are obviously opportunities waiting to be seized by those who mastered it. Keeping this in mind, KBU International College always engages its students in activities such as IBM SmartCloud Camp which is jointly organised by IBM Malaysia and MDeC.

The event which was open for both professionals and students was held from 24th to 25th February 2012 in Tunku Abdul Rahman College.
“The journey towards the IBM SmartCloud Camp started in September 2011 after a complimentary cloud training and compulsory online quiz,” said Olayemi Folake Esther, a Nigerian student from KBU who obtained second prize together with her team mates.

She added that the victory was unexpected as all she wanted was to acquire more knowledge on cloud computing from the camp.
“KBU has contributed a lot to my success. The knowledge I acquired from the College has been very helpful,” added Olayemi who is currently pursuing her studies in BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

“Even though I am a foreigner, I never felt out of place. The lecturers are always interacting closely with all students, both local and international students. I don’t think other institutions can offer such an environment,” said Olayemi.

“Around 90 shortlisted students and professionals were selected to join the three-day intensive camp, “said Chong Han Liang, KBU alumnus who graduated last year with BEng (Hons) Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

“There were 15 teams comprised of professionals and students competing amongst each other. We were given two scenarios to choose from for the topic of our proposal- delivering infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and delivering Software as a Service (SaaS),” said Chong who grabbed second prize in the competition.

Chong added that the close collaboration between KBU and IBM has enabled him to obtain first-hand exposure to IBM technologies.
“KBU has paved a solid foundation for me to tackle the daily challenges in my working life,” he added.

In today’s competitive world, the temptation to switch from your perfectly content phone service to another is too high. A full-colour advertisement with catchy phrase and an attractive photo would very well do the trick.

A good advertising has its way of sticking with you- for example Digi’s yellow man advertisement. In case you are wondering who is doing the great job of blending psychology, marketing and creativity in making the effective ads, the answer would be – advertising designers.
Advertising designers are not only talented in the art of creative design, but they also understand marketing and how to promote products and services via visual communication.

Recognising the prospects of the advertising design industry, KBU International College recently launched a new programme, Diploma in Advertising Design.

“ Rather than only focusing on the art of creative design, the programme also instills students with the knowledge on how to be an effective marketing personnel and equips them with promotional knowledge through visual communication,” said Diploma in Advertising Design Programme Coordinator Mohd Idzuan Othman.

He said the programme will tap into the artistic ability of a student while honing his/ her communication skills and competitive attitude.
“Students will be trained with competitive abilities which will mould them to survive or overcome any tough situation that corporate world throws to them,” he added.

Despite that, he also said: “A diploma in advertising design would open up the door for endless job opportunities in diversified field”
“For example, students can choose to work in the areas of marketing communication, advertising, graphic design and many more,” he said.
He also added that those who are interested in creating animation, illustration or photography can choose to enroll in this course as it will sharpen their skills and shape them into effective advertising designers.

The April intake is in progress now. Students who are interested can apply with their forecast results. The programme can be completed in two years. Applicants should at least possess three credits in SPM/GCE ‘O’ Levels or other equivalent qualifications.
